I'm an AI practitioner with over two decades of experience building real-world systems and translating research into deployable solutions. With 50+ peer-reviewed publications and multiple patents, I combine deep technical insight with practical impact. I have built and led ML/AI teams working on a variety of problems across aerospace, manufacturing, energy, retail, social media, finance and cybersecurity. Highlights include heading Machine Learning at Charles Schwab and co-founding PetaSecure, before launching Concentric AI to transform data security for enterprises. I hold a PhD in computational neuroscience from Boston University where I worked with Barbara Shinn-Cunningham. My thesis work on source separation grew out of research I did with Paris Smaragdis and Bhiksha Raj. My research path began in undergrad under the mentorship of Anil Shende, along with Cristina Pinotti and Romeo Rizzi. I'm the descendant of an illustrious academic lineage that includes Copernicus, Kant, Helmholtz and Planck. My Erdos Number is 3 (via Romeo Rizzi and Pavol Hell). I am a senior member of the IEEE and served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. |
